Kid Kong Association (KKA) is an amateur boxing program for teens 19 and under. This program is designed to provide youth with an exceptional way to manage anger through the competitive sport of boxing.
For many young people, the teen years can be quite challenging, marked by rapid physical and psychological change. One of the many things that adolescents are trying to figure out during this confusing time is how to regulate their emotions. And perhaps the most difficult emotion for a teen to control is that of anger. Our hope is that KKA will help teens develop the essential anger management skills needed to deal with confrontation so that they can become strong, productive, and successful adults.
We believe that boxing can provide young people with an outlet to not only express their anger in a safe, productive environment, but it also helps them to learn self-discipline skills. Through KKA, participants spar and compete.
